.50 caliber 2" twist off smooth bore barrels. Swan neck cocks in box lock action with sliding pan locking safety and folding triggers. Reverse of frame engraved WALLIS with the obverse engraved with his location, HULL. London commercial proofs under barrels, lightly engraved decorations at muzzles, safeties, tangs and grip frame behind triggers. Smooth wood bag shaped grips with shield shaped German silver escutcheons at wrists. Contained in maroon baize lined wooden case with associated accessories including combination tool bullet mold, barrel wrench, copper flask, flints and lead balls.
Condition:
Good. Metal with dull pewter patina and scattered darker age staining, light oxidation and scattered pinpricking. Both pistols mechanically functional. Associated accouterments good as well, copper flask functional, barrel wrench fits barrels, mold cavity slightly smaller than bores. Casing is a well executed contemporary effort that is properly segmented and shows some real age.
