.45 caliber, 5" barrel, S/N 731314, marked on the frame "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M191A1 U.S.Army". Marked on the left side under the slide release RS in a rectangular box. Below the magazine button a "P" then a Vand P with a "W" above on the forward flat of the triggerguard. Brushed blue finish with a blued barrel. Checkered Colt rock grips. The factory letter will state it was one of 3,150 guns in a shipment to Springfield Arsenal.
Condition:
This pistol is just about mint, retaining all of the original blue finish with no wear to high lines. Barrel retains most of the blue finish, just some light scuffs where the slide has been racked back. Very minute wear to the high lines on the front of the left side of the slide. Bore is excellent to mint. This pistol appears to have never been apart. This is the last stage of a bluing before going to parkerizing. A very rare Colt in collecting 1911A1's.
