Lot of 2, featuring Jack Johnson and Jim Jeffries "Fight of the Century" postcard waged in Reno, NV in 1910; and a 1948 Indianapolis 500 used ticket stub.
Johnson became the first African American to win the heavy weight title in the world. Racist tensions forced the undefeated Jeffries out of retirement in order to retake the title and return it to its "rightful" place. Thirty thousand people crammed into the area to witness the fight. The brawl lasted for 14 rounds, and resulted in Johnson's victory. Riots ensued across the country.
Some damage to the verso of the post card and writing from the previous owner.
