.44 R.F. caliber, 6 5/8" barrel, S/N 173. The top of the frame is marked XL No. 8, along with the Hopkins & Allen name, address and patent dates. Nickel plated barrel, frame and cylinder. With casehardened hammer and triggerguard, with blued trigger. Checkered hard rubber grips. Rare with nickel plating, with very few made circa 1875.
Condition:
The entirety of the revolver retains nearly 100% of its nickel finish, with some light wear along the gripstraps, The triggerguard and hammer display vibrant case colors. The grips are in excellent condition. The bore and action are excellent. A rare pistol in this condition.
